The perfect lipstick
Before applying any lipstick you need to make sure that your lips are well hydrated so that any cracking on you lips will be soften. Remember that for the lipstick like for clothes dark and matt colours make the illusion of smaller lips and lighter and gloss colours instead increase their volume. You need to consider not just the colour of a lipstick but also its brightness.
Matt lipsticks – these are ideals for medium to bigger lips which are also nicely defined. The colour of a matt lipstick is reacher and will show up more any imperfection you might have
Satin lipsticks – these works for different lips shape. Their consistency is softer and therefore they are more comfortable.
Gloss lipsticks – they have a pearl look. They will add volume to your lips. Be careful to your lip wrinkles. Better to use those on lips
But how to choose the best lipstick?
Well, you need to know what is your contrast level. If for example you have dark hair and dark eyes but light skin then you can use stronger colours in your make-up. If instead you have a lower contrast like myself with brown eyes, brown hair and medium skin tone then you will have to choose softer colours for your make up too.
You will also need to understand your undertone, which does not depend on how light or dark you are. The best way to know your undertone is to book a colour analysis session with an image consultant. If you have a cool undertone, then you will chose a lipstick with pink or purple tones while if you have warm undertone then you will choose a lipstick which has an orange tone.
In terms of seasons:
Winter should choose cool and bright lipsticks which have a bit of blue or violet in it like burgundy or pure red
Autumn should choose orange and warm lipsticks like brick red or terracotta red
Summer should use cool reds but more delicate like mauve
Spring should use light and warm lipsticks like coral and salmon.
